decynthus came over this afternoon/evening. We had a super nice time, putting together around 70 or so goodie bags of Gwenna swag and organizing things. She stayed for dinner and I made chicken kabobs while she put together fabulous shrimp wrapped in bacon ones. The marinade was awesome. We drank sangria and I talked her into watching the pilot ep of Tour of Duty. She's read Myron and Zeke, but never seen the show so now she at least knows what they look like. LOL. Now I'll con her into watching The Road to Long Binh. That'll be good for a few laughs. :)
We leave Thursday morning for Silver Springs, MD. I'm driving and it's about 6 to 6 1/2 hours to get down there. Not too bad. I confirmed our hotel reservations tonight. I also looked over the con schedule, trying to figure out what's the best time to schedule my little wine and cheese book party. Either Friday or Saturday afternoon. I'm leaning toward Saturday.
I've got Sassy's swag for her book all set too. The weather looks like it will hold out. It sounds like it will be a good time so I'm looking forward to it. I don't have a thing to wear to the Disco Duck on Friday night but I'll punt I supposed.
I'm only working three days this week. Normally I'd be thrilled, but I'm buried and it's not getting better. Oh well. I sort of knew this was heading my way. Not much I can do about it now.
Oh, and I got a couple more pages written on VN2, so I'm happy about that. :)
