Well, I'm not. Which is funny because I can fix the office copiers without batting an eyelash. But shove something like my new Nook in my hand and well, it's just not a pretty picture. It's like everything else that's been shoved into my hands, willingly or not. I'm circling it warily and it's jeering at me, laughing at me, reminding that the last thing I am is smart, let alone a rocket scientist. (which is odd that so many of my friends are. Rocket Scientists.)
The Nook is still winning and DC is still yanking her hair out. Each time I think I've got it conquered, it grins and flashes it's teeth. I can hear its taunting little voice- "Come on, little girl, I'm ready to wreck your whole day. hehe." Bastard.
At some point down the road, I will win. I just don't see it right now. And I'm sure my frustration factor would be halved if there were a few factors in my favor. Sadly, B&N is around half an hour drive for me and well, that's time AND gas to keep going over there to try and get this thing to operate right. And for something that is supposed to operate in a WiFi world, I'm unable to get my particular piece of technology to acknowledge other WiFi networks. Which would save me the f-word drive to B&N if the damned thing would log onto the local hotspots only blocks from my house!
So, here it is, another new year and I guess it should be comforting to know that some things will never change. DC continues to be inept and frustrated with even the simplist of techno gadgets. And will btich about it.
